About Hope Global

Hope Global develops and manufactures “Engineered Textile Solutions”  for automotive, commercial, and industrial use.  Founded in 1883 as Hope Webbing Company, in Pawtucket, RI, production was primarily cotton webbing.  In 1957 Hope was purchased by the Casty family and began braid operations, producing apparel and parachute cord, as well as industrial cordage and shoelaces.

Over time Hope Webbing evolved and in 1986 entered the automotive arena with the production of the first mesh map pocket for General Motors.  At the same time, Hope was developing their wire knit division, manufacturing Form-a-Grip ®, an automotive wire carrier reinforcement for trunk and door seals. The growth of the Assembly and Wire Divisions eventually spawned expansion in 1997, opening facilities both in Mexico and France to better serve the markets in North America and Europe.  The expansion into multiple locations, and strategic planning, led to a name change in 2000:  Hope Global “Engineered Textile Solutions”.

Hope Global, now headquartered in Cumberland, Rhode Island, has facilities worldwide manufacturing in Rhode Island, Michigan, Mexico and the Czech Republic.  Today our customers enjoy the same superior quality and service and the added reassurance and experience of a long-standing supplier.
